You know you're pregnant when...

you fall asleep in the middle of a crowded mall. I went to a mall (translation for you Brits: shopping centre) in San Francisco after class today to buy some clothes because nothing is fitting properly. It's crazy how pregnant I look for 3 months. I have only put on two pounds but the doctor said it's mostly gas, air and water-retention. Anyway, I shopped for a couple hours because I was not willing to spend loads of money on clothes that I am going to grow out of soon anyway. I was interested in purchasing a pair of elastic waist maternity jeans that can grow with me but they are so expensive and a lot of them look too dowdy for my high fashion sense. I looked at jeans that are one or two sizes larger than the size I normally wear, but knew I would soon grow out of those too, plus the leg and bottom area looked too baggy. Finally, I had the brilliant idea to go to Wet Seal, a cheap teenage-clothing store, and purchase the "butt-crack" showing jeans that are so popular now. Why? Because they show off my legs but allow my tummy to hang over the top. Brilliant! They'll fit throughout the whole pregnancy and they were only $18 (about 11 pounds). I just have to be sure to wear longer tops over them so I don't look like a knocked-up adolescent fashion victim. I wonder if Wet Seal knows that their super-trendy slut jeans are now being worn by pregnant adults - they'd make a fortune if they marketed them in that way! Anyway, after purchasing these jeans in addition to 2 pairs of drawstring linen pants and a couple of long tank tops ("vests" to you Brits), I decided to sit down for awhile and rest. Next thing I knew, it was an hour later and I had drool collecting on my chin! Speaking of which, tomorrow is my long day at work (12 hours) so I am off to Dreamland.

Here is a picture of me in my new jeans and tank top with my little baby bump steadily growing...

This is a great first picture. You have to take more and post them to show your progress.

That's the plan! In fact, I'll be posting another one this week-end. I think the belly has grown enough to see a difference in a photo now - more of a definitive bump anyway. :)
